# Grapehop

> Grapehop is a free personal wine and beer journal app for iOS and Android. Log every tasting with photos, OCR label scanning, location tagging, and a simple 3-tier rating system (Yey / Meh / Ney).

## What is Grapehop?

Grapehop is a mobile app that helps wine and beer enthusiasts keep a private diary of every drink they try. It is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Key capabilities:
- **Smart OCR scanning**: photograph a wine or beer label and the app automatically extracts name, winery/brewery, vintage, ABV, grape variety, and country
- **Location tagging**: every entry is geocoded with the city and country where the drink was enjoyed, with an interactive map view
- **3-tier rating**: rate drinks as Yey 🥳 (loved it), Meh 😐 (it was fine), or Ney 😩 (didn't like it) — no complex 100-point scales
- **Favorites tab**: every "Yey"-rated drink is automatically saved to a curated favorites list
- **Cross-device sync**: iOS uses iCloud; Android uses Firebase
- **Bilingual**: fully available in English and Spanish

- **iOS**: native SwiftUI app, requires iOS 17+, uses iCloud sync and Apple Vision OCR
- **Android**: Jetpack Compose with Material Design 3, ML Kit OCR, supports Android 8.0+ (API 26)
